Car Hire Apps

Online Wroclaw rental services for cars are represented by 2 market leaders:

The fleet of Traficar consists of 150 Clio Renault cars. Users pay for each kilometer driven and for each started minute of use. Cars are waiting in the streets and at some Orlen stations. To become a user, you need to register in the system by providing your personal data, credit card information, and driving license scan. The car can be hired through the application. The user checks whether the vehicles are available in the given area at the moment, chooses the nearest one, and reserves it for 15 minutes. When you reach the car, you scan the QR code from the windshield. The key card is waiting inside. The cost of travel is PLN 0.80 for each kilometer plus PLN 0.50 for every minute of use. A minute of parking costs 0.10 zl.

Users have 200 ELECRTIC cars available, including 190 Nissan Leaf and 10 VAN cars. This car hire service is quite similar to the previous one and operates on similar terms as Traficar. You only pay for 1 minute of drive, which is 1 zl. At the same time, a minute of a stop would cost you 10 groszy. For example, to reach Aquapark Wroclaw from the city center, you should prepare about 10 zl. Vozilla cars can be used outside Wroclaw but should be returned within the city limits, otherwise, the user pays an additional fee.

Wroclaw Locomotion Go Green

Go Green

Have you ever wondered why Go Green?  Everyplace you go peers are talking about going green and how does it impact our beloved planet. Varying from plastic bags to heavy industrial products, society is trying to find a way to upgrade with new and potent ways to go green. Meanwhile, there are a number of impactful ways in which to go green.
There are plenty of reasons to actually do that. However, most of the time going green is mainly a personal preference that is taken over by individuals in hopes to contribute towards the superior betterment of our plant. Go green makes this place a much better place to live for us and most importantly for future generations.

The big “Why”?

Several reasons were considered by the local rulers to introduce green ideas withing city premises. First, green uses much less energy every single year. These energy savings are significant, because they add up.  As Chinese say: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”
By using eco-friendly vehicle you could decrease the amount of hazardous pollutants that get into the air. As a result, it makes both the outdoors and indoors have much leaner and healthier air for us to breath. Eventually, better air equals better health, equals less pharmacy bills.
Another important reason, which is really important is that Wroclaw is trying to reduce carbon emission with Go Green attitude. Carbon footprint is a trendy phrase and it is crucial to keep in in check.

Wroclaw Goes Green

bike, Go Green

Wrocław fell down to the eco trend Go Green back in 2011, when Wroclaw’s City Bike started to operate in Wroclaw. Is started on the 8th of June 2011 with whooping amount of 760 bikes for rent operating within 76 stations. The basic idea is to register and pay a small fee to rent a bike. For 20 minutes it’s free of charge. You can give the bike back to every other station. It is really popular because it is a huge convenience, especially when the weather is good. Humongous amount of student use it regularly.

Go Green, car

Following chronological order in November 2017 Vozilla has started operating in Wroclaw.  There are 200 electrical cars available. Nissan Leaf is small and well suited to travel around Wroclaw. They have special parking spaces spread across whole Wroclaw. Another huge advantage is also the ability to travel on the bus lane. However, the price may be to steep for many, especially during the rush hours, 1 PLN for 1 minute spent driving.

blinkee.city, Go Green

A new electric scooter rental in Wroclaw

A new electric scooter rental in Wroclaw fits perfectly with the latest trends, filling the gap in collective transport. Wrocław is a city “of young people” value independence and freedom in particular.  Therefore, the rental of electric scooters is the best idea for them.

The new electric scooter rental is reminiscent of the Vozilla city electric rental company, which has been operating in Wrocław for half a year. To use the scooter, first of all download the application and then register your account. Especially relevant is that if we are 18 or older, we do not need a driving license. Next, we top up your account (the minimum amount is PLN 10). Then we look for the nearest free scooter on the map. Later, after make a 15-minute reservation, get into your chosen vehicle. Finally travel around the city.

How it’s working?

At the beginning, we need to download the blinkee.city application. Then register in the system by providing the credit card number and sending a photo of the ID card. The next step is to find the nearest scooter in the application. The vehicles do not have designated places.  That’s why you can find anywhere, but within the designated boundaries of the zone.

After selecting the vehicle, which is interesting for you. You can reserve it remotely for 15 minutes. After reaching it, we unlock it without keys, using the application. Two helmets with hygienic, disposable inserts are waiting in the trunk. What’s important, we can freely travel outside the city with a scooter. Therefore, you must to leave electric scooter within the zone designated by application.

In addition, we can drive an electric scooter with a maximum speed of 45 km/h. Its range on a warm day can reach up to 80 kilometers. We start to rent the scooter by the application. From now on, we have two free minutes to prepare ourselves for driving. At the end of finishing the ride, we finish the loan in the application and hide the helmet.

Step 1: How to get from Wroclaw airport to the city centre?

Most people from abroad (probably You too) visit Wroclaw by plane.

It means, that the first question you ask yourself, right after leaving the Wroclaw airport building, is: “How do  i get to the city centre?” Well, you can always order an Uber 🙂 But what, if you’re out of money?

Don’t worry – Wroclaw airport is not the end of the world 🙂

Wroclaw airport is quite well communicated with the city center. Only two bus lines run at the airport – 106 during the day and 206 at night. Each of them will take you to the main railway station, from where you can get almost anywhere, and from where you can take a walk to the Market Square (10 min on foot).

How to buy a ticket (& what kind of ticket) at the Wroclaw airport?

You can buy a ticket in special machines (our drivers do not sell them). You can find the machine at the bus stop next to Wroclaw Airport or on the bus (on the bus – only by card!). The machines have a menu in Polish, but also English, German and French. If you have a student or school ID, you can choose cheaper tickets. Remember also that if you want to stay in Wroclaw a little longer, you can choose – instead of a one-off ticket – one of the time tickets, eg for a day, two days or a week, so that you will not have to buy more tickets later.

Here You can find more info about public transport in Wroclaw.

If you prefer to see instead of reading, a short film below for You:

PS.: You must remember that from March 2018 our ticket machines will look a bit different!

_________

You can also choose Wrocław Airport Express  – it is a bus dedicated to people visiting Wrocław for the first time. It drive you directly to the city center (Pl. Dominikański or Main Railway Station), it will take a little less time than ordinary communication (30min vs 50-55 min), but it cost more, and when you arrive, it often turns out that you still need to buy a time ticket.

Choice is yours 🙂 Have a nice trip 🙂

Living as a student in Wroclaw

Sunset in Wroclaw

Living as a student in Wroclaw

Firstly, the aim of the video is showing how the student life is in Wroclaw and meanwhile making introduction film about Wroclaw in a most natural way. You can see how it would be living as a student in Wroclaw. As you can see the camera is the first person. It feels like you are the guy in the movie and seeing all the things through his eyes.

After he wakes up, he washes his face, makes a coffee wears clothes. But the important thing starts with these daily activities. He opens the door and boom; we see the Rynek, people are happy and riding a bicycle, then he goes to tram station and by that he introduces the transportation system in Wroclaw to us then we see the boat tour, some buildings and finally he walks into the school. We see the friendship, foods, people are helping him and stairs for blind people.

All these things emphasize that Wroclaw is a great city for living as a student. And, I think, it’s a very clever way to show it rather than regular introduction movie but it could be better if the video was more long.
